Mileage Credit Card - A mileage credit card lets you earn points toward travel rewards. Typically mileage credit cards earn you points for every purchase that you make. Although they seem like a great offer, one of the biggest complaints with these mileage credit cards is that it takes too long to accumulate enough points to travel anywhere. However, there are a few things you can do to maximize the number of points you can earn by using your card.

First of all choose a card that offers a lot of bonus points for signing up with them. Some cards will offer upwards to fifteen thousand points for selecting their mileage credit card. Another thing to look for is how fast they allow you to accumulate points. If you want to go faster then chances are you will have to pay a monthly fee. You might balk at having to pay fifty or sixty dollars a year for a credit card, but if you think about it, the extra points you earn will garner you free travel.

The next thing you can do is put all of your purchases on your credit card and then simply pay off the balance at the end. For example, if you have to pay one hundred dollars every month for heating, then instead of writing a check, use your credit card to pay for it and then pay your credit card - you will be earning points on a utility that you would have to pay every month anyhow! However, if you do elect to do this, then you have to be disciplined enough to pay off your balance at the end of every month otherwise it will backfire and you will find yourself in debt faster than you can blink.
